SWEETIE IS NOT READY FOR ADOPTION AT THIS TIME.  SHE  IS CURRENTLY RECEIVING REHABILITATION AND MEDICAL TREATMENT. WHEN SHE IS AVAILABLE THIS STATUS WILL BE CHANGED. 

 

Sweetie was previously adopted out of the Miami Date Shelter back in September, looking like a normal healthy pup. Sadly, she has only known severe neglect and abandonment in her short 18 month lifetime. She was returned to the shelter in December looking like this! 

She is on a long road to recovery. Her skin is paper-thin and bleeds easily. The slightest movements leave her skin cracking and in pain. She has severe Demodex (mange), a skin infection, ear infections, yeast infection, anaplasmosis, anemia, and is heart-worm positive! She's emaciated at 49lbs (she was 68lbs in Sept) and is desperate for affection. Sweetie lives up to her name though! Despite only knowing severe neglect, she trusts and loves everyone she meets. She deserves so much love to gleam over the hatred and sorrow she has endured the last 2 months. 

She could really use some support this Christmas. Any donation amount will go a long way toward her medical bills. Big Cypress German Shepherd Rescue will continue her care until she is fully recovered and finds a forever home. It is our mission to make sure she is never failed again. Together, we can change her life and make sure she only knows love and kindness.
